We’ve searched through our usual attractions to discover what’s available for you to enjoy. You’ll notice there are no theatres or venues included because they are not operating any programmes. Many places are open but check before you go. Most are insisting on an online booking and will offer a time slot for your visit.
Our heartfelt plea these businesses need our support. However, please stay cautious and safe. Better not to get Covid-19 than fight it. Hopefully, these brilliant organisations will survive to resume their role in making our area so rich with holiday experiences.

The Hepworth Wakefield
The popular and critically acclaimed Bill Brandt / Henry Moore exhibition will be extended until 1 November. Advance booking is available now and is strongly recommended.
Initially, the gallery will open Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm (last entry 4.30pm). The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, has remained open throughout lockdown and will continue to be open daily, free of charge.

Park Runs
All local Park Runs in the Wakefield area are not yet up and running. Keep training
Nostell Priory
Most of Nostell continues to be closed. The car park and tea-room has reopened for you to enjoy some of the wider parkland. You will need to book in advance to secure a parking space.
Cannon Hall Farm
Farm shop open. Cannon Hall Park open  Cannon Hall Farm attraction due to restricted capacities, pre-booked tickets only. Even if you have a free admission ticket, you will still need to pre-book a space. No customers will be able to just turn up without having booked in.
At this stage not all of the farm attractions will be open, so the day out you experience may be very different to the one you are used to.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park
The Parkland and Formal Gardens will be open to enjoy modern and contemporary sculpture in the open air. The Underground Gallery will also be open, so you can enjoy the vibrant major exhibition by Joana Vasconcelos.
The team has been working hard to ensure your visit will be as safe as possible so you will notice some changes. All visitors will need to book a ticket in advance so that we can manage numbers, comply with NHS track and trace, and to raise vital funds at this difficult time.
National Coal Mining Museum is open.
All visitors to the museum will need to pre-book a slot for you and up to 7 people in your bubble. There is a £2.10 booking charge with slots in 15 minute intervals. https://bit.ly/3hJYdeT
