Nostell Priory, West Yorkshire

December brings its usual crop of special events.  Christmas is the time when people pull out all the stops (Nice Christmas Carol Organ Music phrase) and have a blast.  Christmas markets, Panto, and meeting Santa are must do activities in the run up to Christmas.  Have fun!

I’ve given a web link in most cases.  Please check before you go.  As with all exploring, some of our ‘What’s on’ suggestions will be brilliant, some will give you completely new experiences, and others may be a disappointment. I’m putting this list together based on what I think looks interesting.

Kirklees Light Railway Santa Special. Dates through December.

This festive season, step aboard the steam-heated carriages of our Santa Specials & be transported to the magical North Pole. http://bit.ly/2qC2FaH

Meet Santa & his jolly helpers inside their cosy grotto filled with sacks full of presents for the good girls & boys.

Whilst waiting to see Santa, adults will be treated to a mince pie and festive tipple and children will enjoy biscuits and juice in our heated marquee. Santa will also be bringing one of his cheeky elves along to help keep everyone entertained!

Children will have an opportunity to write their letters to Santa, complete activity and colouring sheets, make a Christmas wish upon our Wishing Tree and, if they want to brave the cold, have a run around the outdoor adventure playground.

Cannon Hall Farm Elfs Workshop: November 30th 2019 – December 24th 2019

Head to elf school where everyone will learn how to make bears with a little help and finally head to the workshop where children will make their very own bear to take home and keep! http://bit.ly/2rndNbs

Children attend a workshop experience – they are first led into a school room where they are taught how to make a bear. In the second room lies the magical workshop where they choose the skin of the teddy bear.

Santa’s elves have moved from the North Pole to our custom built Elves Workshop in this truly magical experience that is sure to delight and dazzle.

A little bit of Germany comes to Farmer Copleys this Christmas, with live entertainment from The Jager Maestros as well as a German-style buffet and of course steins! http://bit.ly/2rpQeP5

Manchester’s definitive entertainment band, The Jager Maestros are an authentic German Oompah band with a refreshingly modern difference. Comprising of 8 of the country’s finest brass players and an irrepressible stand-up comic as a front-man, this band lead audiences on a highly exciting, mesmerising journey from Oktoberfest drinking songs and games to contemporary classics in an Oompah style that wonderfully get crowds swaying, swigging steins and singing songs at the top of their voices.

Grab your lederhosen and your steins and get ready for a fun filled festive Farmer Copleys extravaganza!

Complete Madness at Warehouse 23 on 20th December.

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience Complete Madness, who are regarded as the UK’s no.1 tribute to the nutty boys. http://bit.ly/2Ogclk2

They are supported by Suzie & The Suits, who deliver a punky, Ska party show. Both bands have found time in their busy touring schedules to come together in Wakefield for this Christmas bonanza.

The musical grooves will include Ska, Two-Tone and Rocksteady, delivering an exciting stage performance with attitude and vigor. So come and get into the party spirit…it should prove to be an excellent evening of music and entertainment.
